KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi believes that the signing of Samson Andrew Kigozi has significantly improved his squad for next season.

Kigozi was signed from Police FC on a three-year deal and the coach said the player brings a new dimension to the side.

"His addition is going to give us a headache in the selection of the team. It's good to have three players in each position. We are interested in players who are in their 20s since they are going to play for the club for a long time. The time they will spend at the club, they will be able to grow and we will also help them to be confident. Kigozi's signing is also good for the growth of the club," Mutebi said.

Speaking to the press after his unveiling, Kigozi said he was excited to join the former league champions.

"I'm happy to join KCCA FC. This has been one of my dreams and I promise I will live up to expectations. I know playing for KCCA calls for a lot of commitment but I am ready," Kigozi said.

However, Mutebi also believes the new players will play a big part in bringing a lot of competition to the team.

"All these players are almost at the same level and we are going to have a lot of competition. When we had injuries last season, we didn't have suitable replacements but its a different case since each position has different players to battle for. We are signing players who can adopt the modern way of play and that's why I believe these young players will turn into better players", he clarified.

Kigozi becomes the seventh  KCCA FC new signing in this transfer window after Brian Aheebwa, Bright Anukani, Ashraf Mugume, Charles Lwanga, Italian born Stephen Mazengo Loro and utility player Denis Iguma.

With KCCA scheduled to compete on four fronts namely the CAF Confederation Cup, Uganda Premier League, Uganda Cup, and FUFA Super 8  next season, the club has to strengthen in all departments.
