National Resistance Movement (NRM) chairpersons from Ankole sub region have endorsed Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga as a sole candidate for National second vice party's chairperson.

The chairpersons revealed this to Kadaga while she was being hosted on Radio West and TV West in Mbarara.

Chairpersons who had escorted Kadaga included Gerald Agaba, for Isingiro, Jomo Mugabe for Mbarara and Gordon Mutima for Rwampara district.

Mugabe commended Kadaga for what she has done for the party especially on the floor of parliament.

"We are very proud of you and with my colleagues in Ankole sub region, we agreed to rally behind you. It is not only NRM members who are proud of you but even our colleagues in the opposition for you know how to balance parliamentary debates," Mugabe said.

He added that they have held meetings with their counterparts in other districts that fall under Ankole and those of greater Bushenyi so that Kagada is supported and continues serving them diligently.

Speaking on radio, Kadaga said that the post she's vying for is a position for planning for all Ugandans before even matters are brought to parliament.

"It is not about salary or office comfort but to ensure that there is good planning for the party," she said.

She explained that they have ensured that at least each sub county in the country gets a secondary school, therefore reducing on early marriages and school dropouts.

"We have managed to put up seed schools to ensure that a girl child continues with education, I have spent 23 years running a campaign against female genital mutilation in areas of Sebei and Kalamoja," she said.

She revealed that she has managed to lobby this using her position as the second vice National chairman NRM.

"In Sebei region, there is no medium of communication like radios, but through the minister of ICT, we have already secured a transmitter to put up a radio station so that people benefit from government programmes,' Kadaga explained.
