The Buliisa COVID19 taskforce has resolved to allow the resumption of boda boda business a day after Police disrupted the commencement of boda boda riders carrying one passenger as per the presidential directive, claiming the district was still under lockdown.

The taskforce that sat on Tuesday allowed operations of motorcycle riders carrying only one passenger within Buliisa but must get clearance from the office of Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for those who intend to travel outside the district since the district is still under public transport lockdown.

The district's Internal Security Officer, Godrey Kalo informed the task force that opening should be within.

RDC Amos Asiimwe Wangi, who heads the district security committee and the COVID19 taskforce, ordered the district Police commander not to instruct police patrol vehicles to arrest motorcyclists but leave this work to traffic police officers.
