COVID-19: Nansana Pastors demand opening of Churches

Pastors attribute the increased domestic violence in homes to closure of churches.

Nansana pastors under their umbrella body Nansana Division Pastors Association (NDPA) have asked the government to consider the considering re-opening of churches for people to pray and repent.

Through their chairperson Fred Lubwama, pastors say that their followers are currently facing different challenges yet its them (pastors) who have to provide counselling.

"We used to give advice and counselling to people but these days it's impossible due to the fact that we can't meet them as we used to," Lubwama said as he demanded for immediate opening of churches.

Lubwama added that they are ready observe the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) once churches are reopened.

"We shall provide temperature guns at all entrances, sanitizers and put emphasis on wearing of masks, among other necessities," he said.

Chris Mpoza, Freedom Centre's senior pastor attributed the increased domestic violence in homes to closure of churches, saying people no longer have relevance to the Lord and therefore re-opening churches will be paramount.
