The Deputy Secretary General of the ruling National Resistance Movement, Richard Todwong, has warned staff against siding with particular candidates ahead of party elections.
Todwong made the call on Wednesday while meeting the District Administrative Secretaries at the party headquarters in Kampala.
"Don't take sides but attend to all candidates equally," Todwong said, adding: "As staff, don't attend candidates' meetings unless it's an official event involving all concerned individuals."
According to a statement from the NRM secretariat, "the Deputy SG disclosed that the Admins had partly been invited to the headquarters to receive the official stamps to be used in the internal party elections. These stamps will be used in endorsing the Party Candidates for the Special Interest Groups (SIGs)".
"Use the stamps for official work only", Todwong emphasised.
At the same meeting, the Deputy National Treasurer, Jacqueline Kyatuhaire, said the Secretary General had directed all offices to re-open for operations. Offices had closed in March due to Covid-19.

Kyatuhaire urged the staff to observe the SOPs at offices. She added that each office was getting sanitizers, a plastic can for handwashing, a temperature gun and 200 masks.
She promised more support to district offices.
The meeting was also addressed by the Director in charge of mobilization, Mathias Kasamba and the Senior Manager Finance and Administration, Aron Kashamba.
