COVID-19: Lions Club donates relief food to 50 families

Kampala- Fifty vulnerable families at Nsambya, Kevin Zone in the city suburb have, Saturday received relief food to help them feed and cautioned against observing the Standard Operating Procedures (OPS), so as to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

The relief items that included matooke, rice, sugar and soap, among others were donated to the vulnerable by Kampala Lions Club.

Handing over the relief items to the community, Lydia Ibingira, the club's President said they opted to extend the aid so that people remain firm and hopeful during the lockdown.

"Mothers are the most affected ever since the pandemic outbreak, so aiding them with whatever help we get gives them courage to continue adhering to the SOPs," Ibingira said.

She promised that they will continue extending various forms of help to the district task forces so that local communities are helped.
