COVID-19: Jinja regional referral hospital discharges four

Since the breakout of COVID-19, they have received and treated 77 cases of coronavirus.

JINJA- Jinja Regional Referral Hospital has discharged four people who were put under quarantine two weeks ago with suspected signs and symptoms of COVID-19.

Dr Florence Tugumisirize the hospital director said three were pregnant women and the other a truck driver who were all from Malaba boarder point.

"I am happy we are seeing off the last group from the isolation Centre," she said.

She added that the expectant mothers had started antenatal care during quarantine and before being discharged, they were given antenatal certificates and mama kits.

Tugumisirize however cautioned them to follow the guidelines set out by the health ministry for their own safety.

According to Tugumisirize, the isolation Centre has been disinfected and was ready to accommodate any other suspected cases.

 


She explained that since the breakout of COVID-19, they have received and treated 77 cases of coronavirus.

Asha Nakawunde the nursing officer at the isolation Centre said most of the patients had minor symptoms of cough and headache.

She added that for safety of their health workers, tests are done on each one of them after two weeks to ascertain their status.
