The police have arrested five traders from Mabirizi Complex who were found striking against their landlord's maintained position of demanding rent for the four months of lockdown.

In his recent address to the nation where he eased the lockdown on Saloons, arcades and Boda-boda riders, President Yoweri Museveni allowed for the opening of 110 arcades, out of the 170 that had been inspected.

However, many traders are still unable to transact business following the closure of buildings in which they operate, because their landlords are allegedly asking that they clear outstanding balances of rent arrears.

The Police have arrested five traders from Mabirizi Complex who were found striking against their landlord's maintained position of demanding rent for the four months of lockdown.

They were joined by other traders from Premier Complex and Arrow Center who also demonstrated over the four-month rent arrears demanded by their landlords.
