Vipers coach Fred Kajoba believes that the new additions to its coaching staff will steer the club to success.

The pair of Paul Kiwanuka and Francis Mugerwa were confirmed as the first and second assistant coaches, as the reigning champions strengthened their coaching setup to ensure Kajoba has an adept backroom staff ahead of the 2020-2021 season.

"I am delighted to have this talented group of coaches alongside me. They bring a great mix of experience and fresh thinking," said Kajoba.

Kiwanuka, who was in charge of Bright Stars FC before joining Vipers, reunites with Kajoba after the two previously worked together, before they were sacked for failing to guide the Mwererwe-based club to the Uganda Cup trophy.

"I am excited to be joining Vipers and for the chance to work with Kajoba again. It is an opportunity I couldn't let up," he said.

"I would like to thank Vipers management for giving me this chance and l know that our skills and experience will complement each other as we work to develop an exciting new team."

Mugerwa joins the Venoms from Maroons, where he worked under Douglas Bamweyana. He previously had stints at Onduparaka and Bright Stars, where he worked together with both Kajoba and Kiwanuka.

"I am a man of few words who prefers doing the talking on the pitch. l feel proud and honoured to reunite and work closely with the two coaches plus the other staff at Vipers," said Mugerwa.

Goalkeeping coach Ibrahim Mugisha, fitness trainer Edward Ssali, physical and conditioning coach Ram Nyakana Mpuga, gym instructor Ibrahim Kato and physiotherapist Mathius Kassagga complete the coaching staff at Vipers.

The league champions have had to strengthen in all departments considering they have to compete on five fronts - CAF Champions League, Premier League, Uganda Cup, FUFA Super 8 and FUFA Super Cup.
