Big League Side Nyamityobora FC have unveiled their new head coach Richard Makumbi.

Makumbi was unveiled to fans at the team's home ground Nyamityobora, which is still being renovated.

The arrival of Makumbi is a deliberate move by the Mbarara City-based side to return to top-flight football, which they tested in the 2018/2019 season but were relegated in their very first year of promotion.

Club Chairman Muzamir Ssekajja assured Makumbi of club support and liberty in his services but asked him to use the liberty to return the club to the super league.

"We trust in you and you are worth the trust. You are at liberty do make any decisions without interference but as long as the decisions will aid our objective of gaining Premier League promotion," Ssekajja said.

"I am not a witch neither am I a magician. I have been working with an objective supported by determination, the reason I have promoted every club I have handled," Makumbi said.

The soft-spoken tactician who is dubbed a promotion master for having promoted many clubs to the top flight, worked at and promoted Mbarara City into the Big League, and then to the premier league in 2016.

He is also known for having promoted Mukono Lions, SCOUL, Iganga FC, Buikwe Red Stars, Fire Masters, Bunamwaya now Vipers, BIDCO, UTODA and SOANA now Tooro United and Kenya's Western Skimers in 2018 before coming back to join Kitara FC.

Makumbi has reached a mutual agreement with Nyamityobora, including buying off his contract with Eastern region league and former top-flight outfits Mbale Heroes.
