KACITA leaders quizzed over inciting violence

KACITA leaders are accused of inciting city arcade traders to open their shops which is against the government’s existing ban.

KAMPALA- Police on Monday summoned the Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) leaders and grilled them on allegations of inciting violence.

They are accused of inciting city arcade traders to open their shops which is against the government's existing ban on their operations in effort to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking to the New Vision, Luke Owoyesigire, the deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson said they are still investigating the motive of said leaders.

"It's true that KACITA leaders were summoned by police and recorded statements, so we are following up the case," Owoyesigire said.
