KAMPALA - The Police has warned the public against violating the covid-19 guidelines put by the Ministry of Health (MOH).

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga issued the warning on Monday while addressing the media at the police weekly press briefing at Uganda Media Center in Kampala.

The warning was issued after the Police in Kampala and Wakiso district seized over 800 motorcycles for violating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by the MOH.

Enanga said that security will continue to arrest those who violate the SOPs.

"Some cyclists no longer observe SOPs and may shops in Kampala and neigbhouring areas operate without following the same, putting lives at risk of COVID-19," he stated.

He also warned politicians over misleading the public that the pandemic is not in existance, saying that they will face the law.

Currently, Uganda has registered 1065 COVID-19 cases and 1023 recovery with zero death.
