Recycling mosquito nets

Residents in Kilombe, Makindye division Kampala are recycling mosquito nets. Some are using them to fence their gardens while others use them to collect stones.  Sylvia Katusabe captured these visuals.

Chaos as Nabilah's nomination forms are rejected

Clashes emerged between supporters of the Kampala Woman Member of Parliament, Nabilah Naggayi Ssempala and those of the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago at the of Forum for democratic Change (FDC) headquarters on Wednesday.

The disagreement started when Naggayi had returned her nomination papers to contest for Lord Mayor Position and FDC officials declined to receive them. Stuart Yiga was at FDC headquarters when this happned.

Where does the curfew hour find you?

Police on Tuesday arrested over 200 people who were found wondering in the city while others were found boozing near the old taxi park, Cooper complex and Arua park. These were later released. Stuart Yiga patroled with the force. 

 

Campaigns Vs Social distancing 

Even though the Coronavirus cases in Uganda have surpassed 1000, this has not stopped politicians to campaign for the 2021 general elections. Muhammad Ssegirinya has joined forces with music promoter Abel Musinguzi commonly known as Abitex to campaign for the Kawempe North MP seat. Together with supporters, the group didn't observe social distancing as a guided by the health ministry. Lawrence Kittata took some pictures.
