The former Cranes star has battled mental illness over the years

Ex-international players under All Stars Kampala Association (ASKA) have joined hands to help former Express, SC Villa and Uganda Cranes star Andrew ‘Fimbo' Mukasa through the difficult times he is passing through.

This happened over the weekend at his mother's residence in Wakaliga where the former players handed over a number of items including clothes, detergents, foodstuffs, and a football among others.

George Bukenya Kagugube a former Express player and chairman of ASKA said: "as an association, our goals are to help the former players plus the young generation who are still in the game so that they can have a wonderful life after they retire from playing."

Mukasa tries out the ball that he was given.

"I played with Mukasa at Express and it hurts me to see him in the situation he is going through," Kagugube added.

Mukasa has struggled with mental illness over the years and lives with his mother Grace Nandawula Namujuzi, grandmother Ruth Nansubuga and brother Edwin Lubega.
