Taxis impounded, drivers arrested

The impounded vehicles have been towed to the KCCA grounds in Lugogo.
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and the police have impounded taxis and arrested drivers who were found operating from the streets along Button road in Kampala.
This follows a directive by the Minister for Kampala, Hon. Betty Amongi, who ordered taxis not to operate from the streets.
Affected stages include; Bukasa_Kirinnya, Bweyogerere, Kireka, Banda, and Mukono among others.
The impounded vehicles have been towed to the KCCA grounds in Lugogo.
Passengers and other taxi operators were heard exchanging with the authorities, with many saying that these taxis used to operate from the Old Taxi Park which is currently under construction.
