Museveni holds talks with Tooro king

The President was briefed about the World Monarchs Summit that was slated for September

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Thursday afternoon met and held discussions with the King of Tooro, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV at State House in Entebbe.

President Museveni and King Oyo discussed a number of issues and matters of national importance.

Accompanied by his mother Queen Best Kemigisha, King Oyo also briefed the President about the World Monarchs Summit that was slated for September this year but later postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tooro Kingdom was slated to host the first-ever summit of its kind from September 7 to 11 this year under the theme Monarchs for sustainable Peace and Inclusive Development.

The aim of the summit was to build consensus and collective response by the world's monarchs to contribute to discussing and working together towards achieving sustainable peace and inclusive development.

The summit was to be jointly hosted by King Oyo and President Yoweri Museveni.
