Top KCCA boss throws in towel

KCCA’s acting spokesperson Robert Kalumba told New Vision by telephone on Thursday Atwine resigned on Tuesday, having served at KCCA since 2013.

Following the resignation of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Physical Planning Director Moses Atwine Kananiira, Mark Bwambale has been appointed acting director.

KCCA's acting spokesperson Robert Kalumba told New Vision by telephone on Thursday Atwine resigned on Tuesday, having served at KCCA since 2013.

"It is true our physical planning director, Atwine, resigned and his deputy is now running the directorate in the acting capacity," said Kalumba.

He also revealed that the contract of the outgoing acting executive director, Eng. Andrew Kitaka, has also been extended pending the official takeover of the newly-appointed executive director Dorothy Kisaka, who is still conducting some assignment on the national COVID-19 taskforce.

In August 2019, KCCA's director in charge treasury services, Daniel Kyambadde, resigned. Later, Julius Raymond Kabugo who had been appointed in acting capacity, also resigned three months after the resignation of the executive director, Jennifer Musisi Ssemakula, and her deputy Dr. Judith Tukahirwa.
 
Other directors who resigned included; Charles Ouma (director legal), Dr Jeremy Ntambi (Manager in the directorate of engineering and technical services), Martin Kiiza (manager in charge of drainage), Dr David Sseruka (director public service Health), Fred Andema (director revenue collection), and Jennifer Kaggwa (the director human Resource).
