Vipers want Mbabazi, Kefa Kisala as assistant coaches

Jun 18, 2020

Uganda Cranes second assistant coach Livingstone Mbabazi, Kefa Kisala and Bright Stars tactician Paul Kiwanuka are some of the coaches nominated to take up first and second assistant coaching roles at Vipers.

At the moment, Vipers technical team consists of Kajoba, Edward Ssali (trainer), Ibrahim Mugisha (goalkeeping coach),Ram Nyakana (strength and conditioning coach) and Mathias Kasagga (team doctor)

Kiwanuka who once deputised Kajoba at Bright Stars may not find it hard to work at Kitende more so that he has learnt a lot from Kajoba.

Still, Mbabazi and Kajoba may not find it easy to work together at Vipers since both have different playing philosophies.

Kajoba prefers a defensive approach, while Mbabazi believes in an attack minded game just like KCCA FC and Police FC coaches Mike Mutebi and Abdullah Mubiru respectively.

Being that both Kajoba and Mbabazi are part of technical team at the Cranes, it may be an advantage to Vipers.

However, Kisala can work favourably well with Kajoba since they seem to have same philosophy.

Whoever will be selected, will have to fit in the clubs ambitions as revealed by club president Lawrence Mulindwa.

Mulindwa wants to see that Venoms are one of top sides on the African continent and with such initatives, they might achieve that.
