Bryan White ill, unable to appear in parliament

Bryan White has of late been sick and ‘sometimes he can’t move at all’. “Sometimes he spends a week in a clinic,” said the lawyer who confirmed that he had been asked by his client to write to the chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights.
City socialite and ‘fading tycoon', Brian Kirumira alias Bryan White who has been in the news of late for alleged serious criminal offences, was unable to appear in parliament Thursday because he is ‘seriously sick', his lawyer said.
John Bulungu of ABNO Advocates said, "Brian is not well. He is receiving treatment with serious issues in his stomach".
According to Bulungu, Bryan White has of late been sick and ‘sometimes he can't move at all'. "Sometimes he spends a week in a clinic," said the lawyer who confirmed that he had been asked by his client to write to the chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights where he had been summoned to appear today, June 18, 2020, to defend himself.
The Committee last month summoned Brian White to answer several charges related to rape and sexual harassment raised against him by two of his former female workers (aides).
The alleged victims, Stella Ndawula and Vivian Mutanda and their family members appeared in parliament last month, where they shocked the nation when they revealed that Bryan White had sexually abused and assaulted them.
Mutanda told the committee that she had never received any payment since she started working for the Bryan White Foundation, except the money for hair and makeup.
The alleged victims also made a series of other claims against Bryan White while at his home in Munyonyo, a city suburb, where they helped him run daily activities of his Brian White Foundation.
The Minister of Gender, Labor and Social Development, Frank Tumwebaze also intervened in the saga and called on the alleged victims to report the matter to police for possible prosecution.
Bryan White has, however, come out strongly to deny the accusations saying the allegations against him were fictitious and fabricated by a mafia group fighting him.
In the letter, dated June 18, 2020, and addressed to the chairperson of the parliamentary committee on human rights, Mulungu stated that he was acting following instructions by their client (Bryan white) in response to a letter of June 10, 2020, summoning him to attend the committee on human rights. The letter was written by the committee vice-chairperson.
"Our client is not able to attend to the committee on human rights today, the 18th June 2020 owing to the fact that he is sick and is not in position to move," the letter reads in parts.
It adds; "Our client has requested us to request you as we hereby do that another date be issued to enable him attend the committee to answer the allegations against him".
According to the letter, Bryan White anticipates to be well in about two or three weeks from the day the letter was authored. The letter was also copied to Bryan White.
