Following the upgrade Namasuba-Ndejje road from gravel to tarmac, the surrounding community seeks Uganda Nation Roads Authority (UNRA) to provide traffic lights at Namasuba trading centre.

Local leaders argue that this is intended to reduced accidents and traffic jams along the busy Kampala-Entebbe Road.

The section of Namasuba trading centre in Masajja Division in Makindye Ssabagabo in Wakiso district has been tarmacked, and the carriageway connecting to Entebbe highway widened.

However, Gerald Lumbuye the Makindye Ssabagabo municipal mayor in an interview last week noted that with the increased traffic connecting to Entebbe Road, the access roads require traffic lights.

Samuel Mwesigwa the Wakiso district engineer said tarmacking Namasuba - Ndejje road will greatly decongest the main Entebbe road.

He said traffic from the main Entebbe Road can be diverted at Namasuba via Ndejje-Lubugumu to Kigo then Kajjansi.

Mwesigwa expressed hope that with improved funding, his team will begin works on the Lubugumu- Kitiko- Mutungo road connecting to Kigo at Kampala-Entebbe expressway.
