NGO donates 40 tonnes of posho to Kanyogoga slum

So far, the organization has distributed about 40 tonnes of Posho, and other items but the existing demand is still overwhelming.

Residents of Kanyogoga a slum located in Namuwongo a Kampala city suburb in Makindye Division, have a reason to smile after receiving food relief from Rafiki Social Vision, a non- government organization.
 
The organization's Director Derrick Mayanja, said they found it prudent to extend some food aid in form of Posho, beans, and other items including cooking oil and soap to the vulnerable people in the area.

"After realizing that people living in Kanyogoga slum were facing the problem of hunger, as a result of the prolonged lockdown, we coordinated with the government and they allowed us to help the needy people with food items.
 
So far, the organization has distributed about 40 tonnes of Posho, and other items but the existing demand is still overwhelming," he revealed. 
 
"We gave each family 10 kilograms of Posho, 3 kilograms of beans, cooking oil and 3 bars of soap, "he added.
 
Nicholas Omara, a father of five is one of the beneficiaries whose gratitude towards Rafiki social Vision could not be measured. "Thank you so much Rafiki Social Vision for remembering us the poor. I cannot thank you enough for sure but I hope God blesses you, people." He said.

Alice Apio also a beneficiary commended the organization managers for their Social intervention especially at a time when they needed it most.

"You have exhibited a rare heart of gold. Only God can bless you because you have shown us an ultimate commitment that has rejuvenated our hope to live a better life like others amidst the lock-down," She said.
