Uganda's COVID-19 cases pass 200

The ministry tweeted on its official twitter handle saying all the new cases were from the 1,838 samples taken from truck drivers.

KAMPALA - The Ministry of Health confirmed Saturday morning 43 new cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of cases to 203.

The ministry tweeted on its official twitter handle saying all the new cases were from the 1,838 samples taken from truck drivers. 


According to the ministry, the truck drivers include 17 Ugandans, 14 Kenyans, 5 Tanzanians, 4 Eritreans, 2 Burundians and one unknown nationality who entered Uganda through Elegu, Mutukula and Malaba.

"All the 720 community samples have tested negative for COVID-19. The total number of samples tested today is 2558.," the ministry revealed in the tweet.


To date, the total number of recoveries from the virus is at 63.
