Toto: My lockdown story in the Netherlands

May 12, 2020

In Uganda, I like visiting farms to see animals. In the Netherlands, it is not common to see animals like chicken, in a garden

COVID-19

About a month ago, the COVID-19 came into our lives and changed everything. Our Government here in the Netherlands put us in a Lockdown and we now have to be homeschooled.

Our teachers send us the work online and we have to spend hours doing it. I don't really miss school that much, except that I miss my friends!

I also miss playing football at my football club. What has helped, is that my parents do a lot of fun things with me, my brother and sister during this time, like baking and playing water guns on our balcony.

I am also enjoying playing games like Roblox on the Laptop. All in all, I think it is okay to stay indoors as long as it is for our own good.

We have been indoors for a month now. I miss school so much. I mostly miss my friends. Home school is difficult because we always have a lot of work to do that takes me a long time to finish.

What I am enjoying about staying at home is doing artwork and playing with my tablet.

One sad thing is that my parents had planned a birthday party for me, but it could not happen. So on my birthday, we stayed indoors, but my parents organized a nice small party for me, with just my family.

I still enjoyed it. I miss riding my bicycle outside and also greeting our neighbours. I also miss smelling the fresh air. Do you miss it too.
