Mubende ambulance kills one in accident

ACCIDENT  

MITYANA - One person has died and two others injured in a fatal accident that involved an ambulance on the Kampala to Mityana road.

In this accident, an ambulance from Mubende regional referral hospital rammed into a saloon car a Toyota Premio registration number UAJ 153P and a bodaboda motorcycle, at Zigoti trading centre.

The ambulance was carrying a patient John Mary Lubega, to Mulago who died on Spot.

Both the driver of the ambulance and the motorcycle rider went on the run.

Eyewitnesses blame the accident to the boda boda rider who was crossing the road.

Police carried away the wreckage of the vehicle to Mityana police station and the deceased was taken to Mityana hospital mortuary.

Proscovia Nansamba, a sister to the deceased says he had earlier got an accident in Mubende as he ran away from police but when admitted, he was referred to Mulago.

Police spokesperson for Wamala region Rachael Kawala confirmed the accident adding that they had started investigations.
