COVID-19: Mbarara municipality MP donates rice

On Tuesday morning, through his Tusiime foundation, the MP handed over the rice to the chairman of the district task force Lt. Col. James Mwesigye.

KAMPALA - Mbarara Municipality Member of Parliament Micheal Tusiime donated 5000kg of rice to Mbarara COVID-19 task force to help out families that have been affected by the lockdown.
On Tuesday morning, through his Tusiime foundation, the MP handed over the rice to the chairman of the district task force Lt. Col. James Mwesigye at his office in Mbarara.
Tusiime, who was not present at the handover, was represented by his political assistant Alex Muhumuza and other members of Tusiime foundation.
"Tusiime foundation has been at the forefront of reaching out to vulnerable groups of people especially the orphans and the widows," Muhumuza said.
Muhumuza showered Tusiime with praises saying "I am grateful that our MP has donated food to vulnerable families in this period of lockdown were some families have nothing to eat."
Lt. Col James Mwesigye, who received the donation, commended Tusiime and called upon all individual and institutions to copy from him.
"Our role is to ensure that whatever donation we receive is distributed effectively to the right beneficiaries, we thank Tusiime and others for the donations to the task force," Mwesigye said.
