KAMPALA - Being a musician is all about entertaining fans but it is also a career where one earns a living from performances mostly through stage performances.
However, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has put musicians' careers to a standstill.
President Yoweri Museveni last month announced several measures that the country will be taking to combat the spread of the virus and one of them was banning social gatherings and this has in turn taken stage performances off the table.
Fans have therefore been wondering what their favourite artistes have been up to at a time where people are barricaded in their homes as a safety measure.
New Vision caught up with Khalifa Aganaga who shared the five things he cannot do without while he spends his days at home.
Elections: l haven't stopped thinking about elections. I have to get Kato Lubwama off his seat. Whether Corona is still there or not, I have to do this. Am there to challenge him and therefore, I have to participate by standing as Member of Parliament for Rubaga Municipality.
Panic: We don't know what's next. Whatever am doing at the moment, am just trying to get my mind occupied and busy with things that are developmental to me. No one was prepared for this kind of situation.
Releasing music: That is why I did the stanlizer song. I need to keep producing new music for my fans.
Social Media: Social media feeds me with so much information about what's happening around the world.
Rehersals: I need to keep singing all the time. This is because quarantine might end at anytime without me having something to give my fans. I have a studio at my home and that's where I work with not more than three people. We need to keep safe.
Recently, Khalifa released a song entilted 'stanilizer'.ln the song, he advised people to keep washing their hands in order to stay safe against the deadly pandemic joining several others who have created awareness about covid 19 through music.
