Andrew Kitaka, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive director has promised that most of the damaged roads are to be repaired during the lockdown.

"During this lockdown, we want to start on the construction of the park lane and other major roads that have potholes," he said.

Kitaka said some of the roads that are under construction are Queens way,  Kirombe road that connects from Lukuli road to Nsambya estates and so many more.

He said Queensway that measures about 1.24km is expected to be complete within a period of two months and made ready for road use.

"This is the second busiest road in Kampala after the Jinja highway." where so many people pass to enter and leave the city," he said

Kitaka said, "This road was in a bad state and we had to rehabilitate it, improve on its riding quality, drainage and widen the walkways and in two months, we shall have completed the road according to our work plan."

"We have completed applying asphalt in a distance of 300metres and by the end of the day they will have reached up to 800metres," he said.

According to Kitaka, we are repairing the road during the lockdown because there is limited traffic because when you work when cars are moving, you cause a buildup of traffic on the road which is inconveniencing to both the road users and the workers themselves.
