Two injured in Lira as curfew enters day three

The second incident happened at Adyel Kasubi, Adyel Division around 8 pm, when one Sandra Auma, 32, a single mother of three cut her younger brother Denis Ojok, 20, around the neck with broken glass inflicting serious injury.

Two people were seriously injured in two separate incidents in Adyel Division, Lira Municipality.


The first incident happened around 7:20 pm, soon after the curfew came in force when one Francis Odongo stubbed his friend Daniel Ogwang, 18, on the stomach with a broken beer bottle.

The second incident happened at Adyel Kasubi, Adyel Division around 8 pm, when one Sandra Auma, 32, a single mother of three cut her younger brother Denis Ojok, 20, around the neck with broken glass inflicting serious injury.

Both victims were rushed to Giftlife Care Clinic in Tesobar, Adyel Division for treatment but Ojok was immediately referred to Lira regional referral hospital as he was over bleeding. 

Odongo, who was arrested immediately by Police and taken to Lira central police station said he got annoyed because his friend refused to pay for four kg of pork.

Rose Adongo, the mother of the second victim Ojok said his son was trying to talk to his drunken sister but she became irritated and assaulted him.

The regional police spokesperson Michael Odongo said the matters are still under investigation.
