Rugby star Wokorach learning French while in quarantine

Ugandan rugby star Philip Wokorach who plays for French Federale 3 outfit Bourges XV is using this quarantine period to sharpen his French language skills.

"I have been in my apartment since the outbreak of Covid-19. I need to learn the language and also get myself into shape because that is the most important thing now for me," the Bourges XV fullback said.

Before, Wokorach was having lessons at a French school, but with that closed everything around him is frozen and he has come up with a new routine. His return from the challenger series in South America with the national sevens team meant he was only reintegrating with his teammates when the league season was suspended.

Wokorach is following the French government guidelines and isolating himself, something he has a great appreciation for this period of reflection.

"So far, isolation is okay and I love being alone and having my time. I have a workout plan I am following, so I am good," he explained.

His appearances in the World Rugby Challenger Series in South America deprived him of the chance to play more matches and with the league suspended, he has to wait longer.

"Everything was canceled and I have not played a game since January, I have played only eight games, scored four tries, two penalties and one conversion," Wokorach admitted.
