Ekkula Awards excite tourism fraternity

The annual Ekkula Pearl Of Africa Tourism Awards is keeping the tourism fraternity on the edges of their seats after the nominations were announced

The annual Ekkula Pearl Of Africa Tourism Awards is keeping the tourism fraternity on the edges of their seats after the nominated qualifies to be recognized were revealed March 10 in Kololo by Bismarck Amupaire.

 

For a start, the country clusters will have a stock of achievements taken and a vote from the public will determine who deserves the first position.  The contenders comprise Busoga Tourism, Kigezi Tourism,  Northern Uganda Tourism, Buganda Heritage and Tourism.

Among the photographers are: Mathius Mugisha, Peter Hogel, Ian Sebuuma, Edga Bate and Derrick Senyonyi .  All in all, there are more than 20 different categories whose role in the tourism industry is destined to be appreciated and have them recognized.

 

Looking at the slot of tourism personality of the year leaves voters four options comprising of Amos Wekesa, Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu, Geoffrey Kiwanda and Lilly Ajarova.  

 

In the catering industry is a contention for the best luxury hotel where four establishments are locking horns. They include: Speke Resort Munyonyo, Serena Hotel, Latitude O Degrees Hotel, and Best Western Premier Western Hotel. These were sieved from more than 1800 establishments in the competitive industry.

 

When it comes to guides the voters are spoiled for choice when it comes to taking their pick from best friends and workmates Herbert Byaruhanga and Johnnie Kamugisha. 

 

Concurrently there come events like Nyege Nyege, POATE, Rolex festival, Nsenene Ku Beat and Vegan Festival.

 

When it comes to fast foods that whet appetites of diners, the race is between Java House, Java Café, KFC and Food Hub.

 

These and much more available on the website are waiting for the public vote for the verdict to be aired. 

 

Winners get plaques for a job well done, a trip some of the best hotels located close to tourist attractions like Mweya and Paraa Safari Lodges.
