WAKISO - The Archdeacon of Nateete (Archdeaconary), Venerable Godfrey Buwembo has advised Christians to give thanks to God, whenever they get blessings and favours from him.

"Giving gratitude to God for the respective blessings and favours attracts even greater blessings. On the other hand, failure to appreciate the blessings and favours of God stifles the assurance of added blessings. If you have hurdles and challenges, please pray. But also remember to thank God when you get through them."

"Some people take God's blessings for granted. They don't bother to thank him in good times. Many students also regard being in school as a normal thing and for that matter, they don't bother to thank God. This is wrong because there are many young people who have not been able to return to school because of financial and social challenges."

Buwembo was presiding over the thanksgiving and Holy Communion service at St. Mark's College, Namagoma, in Wakiso district on Sunday.

He thanked the founding directors of the school, Alice and Daniel Ddamulira, for remembering to appreciate God's blessings upon them and the school.

Ddamulira said he regarded his educational project as a vocation and mission from God, adding that adding value to the life of young people gave him inner fulfillment.

During the function, students who got excellent results in last year's UCE and UACE exams were rewarded.

Give thanks to God, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts (Psalm 105:1-2).
