Busoga to host IUEA-EMC rally

The event that is the second round on the National Rally Championship (NRC) will cover a distance of 295kms.

 
 
Busoga region will host the International University of East Africa-EMC Rally that starts March 6 to 8.
 
The event that is the second round on the National Rally Championship (NRC) will cover a distance of 295kms.
 
The rally route has got a mixture of rough and smooth stages/sections in the districts of Mayuge and Jinja.
 
The two-day event will have its super special stage on Saturday at Kakindu Stadium and Clerk of the Course (COC) Alfred Mutanda has assured residents and the soccer fraternity that the playing surface will be protected.
 
The Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda vice-president Shemmy Ssenkatuuka urged residents and fans to observe safety so that the event is successful.
 
Maurice Otieno, the IUEA sales and marketing director also echoed Ssenkatuuka's words saying as an institution, it is committed to supporting sports that observe the safety of all participants.

Fourteen drivers including Sadat Negomba, Samuel Watendwa, NRC defending champion Yasin Nasser, Dr. Ashraf Ahmed, Godfrey Lubega, Abdul Ssempebwa, Dr. Godfrey Nsereko, and Mbarara rally winner Duncan Mubiru have confirmed their participation.
 
Busoga region which last hosted the rally in 2018 that was won by Jas Mangat  will this year host the International University of East Africa-EMC Rally on March 6-8.
