Uganda Handball Federation (UHF) delegates have directed the executive committee to steer the amendment of the constitution to suit the current standards before the election in June.

UHF delegates made the decision on Saturday in Kampala during the annual general assembly which named a five-man committee to start the review of the constitution.

"We should have finished the constitution amendment before this assembly, but you (executive) relaxed. We must amend it as soon as possible," Rodrick Muhumuza of Prisons Club said. He was supported by other delegates.

Later, Muhumuza, Hannington Musoke, former national coach Fred Mugerwa and Augustin Mugalu were named on the constitutional review committee.

UHF president Shiela Agonzibwe promised continued emphasis on regional development by growing the sport.

"We shall continue training more coaches so that we grow the number of handball playing people country wide," she said.

The assembly also later on passed a sh1b budget that will cater for all the continental and regional championships, plus the federation's regional development programmes.
