Johan Stubbe......Rest In Peace!

Feb 19, 2020

Holland thrives on successful family businesses. Businesses are run professionally, passed on to the next generation without trouble. I am aspiring for that as well.

In the last 46 years of my life, I lived with blood Family for less than 10 years. God brought very many people in my life.

Many other people played different roles in the bigger part of this life of mine and that includes Mr. And Mrs. Stubbe....as seen the pic above!

I met the 2 while I was a tour guide towards the end of the 90s and yes a young man then. Yap, I have played a role in many others and still do by God's grace.

We clicked on the first meeting mainly because of their big hearts and we kept in touch.

When I started business, they made all my design T-shirts, provided me with all the pictures they had taken on safaris.

They accommodated me while in Holland searching for a business, they left their business to simply share their testimony with potential clients.

They still have a permanent space for me in their house, I don't have to ask, I know my room. I have never paid for accommodation in Holland for over 18 years.

They knew I didn't need free money but supported every effort of mine because they knew how hard it was to do business.

They are second-generation business owners and they have passed on the business to the third generation. People worth emulating!

Holland thrives on successful family businesses. Businesses are run professionally, passed on to the next generation without trouble. I am aspiring for that as well.

They shared experiences 50 years in business with me. They challenged my thinking whenever they could. We disagreed many times but nothing was taken personally.

Even while sick, Johan kept asking Annie about how I was doing. They kept celebrating every success I got. They came when we celebrated 10 years of business.

I had hoped you would be there when we celebrate 20years next year but God had a different plan for Johan.

Johan, you were a strong man, had many strokes over 20 years but you fought hard. You never gave up, you smiled while in deep pain.

We didn't agree about the existence of God but your hard faith. Strong faith for that matter. I will miss that smile that often welcomed me into your home.

And for you Annegien Stubbe...You are a strong woman. You are a blessed woman. You stood by Johan in good and bad times.

You were strong in his bad times. As we prayed for you today morning, my firstborn son shade tears while hugging me.

You are Family to us and I could see in the eyes of our only daughter aliyah and 2 sons. They are happy to send me off to witness your final send-off.

You 2 have taught us that family doesn't have to associate with color or blood, there is plenty of love out there. Pole Sana Mark Stubbe and Sylvia

Rest in peace Johan.
