FUFA vice president Justus Mugisha has advised the U-17 girls to make the right decisions that will help them realise their dreams of becoming future Stars.
Mugisha was speaking to the girls at Jevine Hotel on Tuesday following their return from Ethiopia where they defeated the hosts 3-1 to qualify for the next round of FIFA Women World Cup on a 5-1 aggregate having won the first leg 2-0 at Lugogo a fortnight ago.
"You are very young but full of talent, however, to be able to utilise that talent. You need to make the right decisions now," Mugisha advised.
Mugisha advised the U-17 girls to avoid paying attention to boyfriends who he believes will ruin their careers.
He cautioned that these players should instead keep training hard as well as reading their books to excel.
"My daughters those boyfriends are going to lie to you. Don't pay attention to them. Just keep training hard and read your books," he emphasized.
He also promised each player is going to receive us dollars 200 each as an appreciation token from the federation for qualifying to the next round very soon.
He as well remarked that as the federation they are going to do everything in their capacity to see that the team qualifies for the finals in November in India.
"I was in discussion with the president and we agreed that we are going to facilitate you with everything to see that you qualify because we see that you have that capacity," he revealed.
Uganda will play Tanzania in the next round and if they go past that stage, they will play Senegal or Sao Tome Principe and will qualify for the finals in India if they win their last match.
Head Coach Ayub Khalifah said that he is ready to qualify the team if the Federation gives him the necessary support he needs.
"The girls are good and I have a feeling that if the Federation keeps up the good support, we shall qualify," Ayub said.
