Mbarara City FC will still struggle to stand still in this 2019/2020 Star Times Uganda Premier League season, as they have once again been forced out of Kakyeka Stadium as their home ground.

The Mbarara based side will have their first home game away in Bombo as they take on former City coach Livingstoine Mbabazi's Wakiso Giants.

This comes after the FUFA Club Licensing committee cancelled out Kakyeka Stadium from hosting the second round league games due to its appalling conditions, especially during the closing stages of the first round.

However, the club management and fans combined efforts and did works on the areas of concern especially planning grass on the bare parts of the playing surface right from the end of the first round in November last year, and two weeks ago, a Bomaga with a vibratory roller was hired to compress the ground to level it to a fair and playable state.

The facility has since not been inspected by the FUFA committee and according to FUFA CEO Edgar Watson, the club management is supposed to write the committee seeking inspection.

"If they (club management) are ready, they will write to the FUFA club lisencing committee to come and inspect the facility," Watson Said.

Mbarara City PRO Arnold Mushabe said they have written to the federation and are only waiting their response before their home game against Vipers on 28/01/2020.

Mbarara City played the bigger part of the first round at Luzira grounds, where their performances pushed them close to the relegation zone culminating into the sacking of Paul Nkata and now re appointed Brian Ssenyondo, before coming back to Kakyeka where they registered three consecutive wins against Onduparaka, Kyetume and KCCA, to move to 9th position on 19 points.
