The trial said that even in joint trials, each accused is individually liable and ordered that Joseph Kanyamunyu will be tried alone when he gets better.

The Highcourt in Kampala has ordered that Mathew Kanyamunyu and his girlfriend Cynthia Munwangari be separately tried from co-suspect Joseph Kanyamunyu who is reportedly sick and admitted in the hospital.

Through their defence, led by MacDusman Kabega, they asked Justice Steven Mubiru to adjourn the trial for 15 days until when Joseph Kanyamunyu will be discharged.

The trial said that even in joint trials,  each accused is individually liable and ordered that Joseph Kanyamunyu will be tried alone when he gets better.

The judge also said the trial has already traversed two sessions and he has to balance public interest with speedy disposal of cases because Joseph's medical report does not even indicate when he will be fit to stand trial.

He has given prosecution up to 2:00 pm to make necessary amendments in the charge sheet so that Mathew and Cynthia trial proceeds.
The prosecution has set seven witnesses who are already in court to testify against the accused persons.
