Guard shoots self over defilement case

A supervisor attached to Saracen Security Company in Kabale district has shot himself dead after being summoned by the Police to answer to charges of defilement.

A statement from Police in Kabale said Dennis Musinguzi shot himself today using a pistol and died instantly.

"This was while he was being held at police where he had been summoned for questioning over defilement case of a 17-year-old girl, a resident of Rutenga cell Nyabikoni Ward, Central Division in Kabale District," a police statement said.

"The scene was visited, body examined, pistol and one cartridge recovered and exhibited, projectile still in the victim's head and inquiries already initiated," the Police added.
