ACCIDENT           MBARARA       RANGE ROVER       SUICIDE

Three people died on spot today Thursday morning along Mbarara-Masaka high near Biharwe trading centre.

According to Samson Kasasira the Rwizi region, police spokesperson confirmed that the accident occurred at around 6:00 am in the morning at Rwegajo in Biharwe when a Range Rover Reg.No UAM 33Y knocked a Bajaj Boxer red in color Reg.No UEU 993F and all the two occupants of the Bajaj Boxer died on spot including the driver of the range rover.

Kasasira identified the driver of the range rover as Frank Rweranga and the occupants of the motorcycle were unable to be identified. He further said that the bodies have been taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital mortuary.

Kasasira noted that the cause of the accident has not yet been known but investigations are going on to ascertain the cause of the accident. The case has been recorded at Mbarara police station under TAR 207/2019.

Kasasira said that  No 54536 Langoya an Acholi by tribe has been attached to FFU was found in a sitting position leaning against the wall with a deep gunshot wound on the head.

Police led by DPC Ntungamo SP Damian visited the scene of crime and found Langoya had shot himself using an SMG riffle Ug.Pol.56581525032540 which was found placed on his chest with one bullet in the chamber and a magazine contained 20 rounds of ammunition. One bullet was found on the floor and a cartridge. The body has been taken to Itojjo Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

He noted that upon examination, they noticed that the deceased placed the gun muzzle in the mouth before he shot himself.

That so far police have recorded statements from the deceased son and neighbors who heard the gunshot.
