JKL Lady Canons beat UCU Lady Canons 62-55 to win game seven and defend the women National Basketball League title at Lugogo, edging the best of seven series 4-3.
But it required the defending champions overtime to overcome the student side who came close but could not close out the game within the last 20 seconds.
Hope Akello led the way with 18 points, 16 rebounds and five assists in the tension-packed and entertaining decider that thrilled fans from start to finish.The action was intense throughout the match.
