In Pictures: Handballers revel during awards gala

The handball awards were last held in 2015 when 2019 MVP Lillian Achola emerged was voted the youngest player of the year.

Lillian Achola of Nkumba University handball club and Ibrahim Kongo of Prisons scooped the Most Valuable Players accolades in the women and men's categories respectively while legendary sports administrator Dan Musoke received the Life Time award and the Uganda Handball Federation held their annual awards at the at Thobani Centre in Kampala.

Event manager Hannington Musoke promised a bigger and better-organised league and awards gala next season. It was a simple but glamorous event spiced up by the handballers themselves whose smartness was not questionable.

The awarded included: Isma Kisalita (best Centre), Ismail Bazanye (Best Coach), Musa Okiria (best Keeper), Flavia Angetch and George Odongo (best Referees), Annette Namutebi (Fair play Award), Flavia Nakamya (Best centre women) and Beatrice Achayo (Best Keeper women).

Others were Lillian Ondoa (Best right half), Scovia Lamunu (Best Pivot), Kato Ssebuguzi (Fans favourites) Doreen Namukasa (Best left Winger) and Shakira Bako (Best left half).
