Buganda Province has petitioned FUFA over Bukedi's use of an ineligible player during the ongoing FUFA Drum Competition.

The reigning champions who went down to Bukedi 4-2 in the quarterfinals claim that left-back Yeseri Waibi was named in the starting eleven when they faced them yet the same player was among Busoga province substitutes on February 28 last year in the first edition of the competition.

According to the FUFA Drum rules, a player is supposed to play for one province and cannot be given a chance to represent any other province again unless in special circumstances as may be decided by the FUFA Executive Committee.

The competitions disciplinary panel will be required to come out with the final verdict on the matter since Bukedi had already qualified for the semifinals.

Sh30m has been set as prize money for the winner of the second edition.

The Drum competition that is played between 16 provinces of Uganda is aimed at taking the game to the masses under the theme  ‘Celebrating Our Ancestry'.

Buganda Province went in the history books as the maiden winners of the FUFADrum tournament. They edged West Nile 2-1 on aggregate in the final to win the inaugural edition of the inter-province championship.

Government and FIFA are part of the sponsors of the competition.
