DEATH    OBITUARY

TORORO - A workshop organized by Uganda human rights commission (UHRC) in Tororo district nearly hit a snag following the sudden death of the commission chairman Med Kaggwa on Wednesday morning.

The two days nonresidential workshop attracted various stakeholders from Tororo district on capacity building training on European Union-United Nation spotlight initiative on the formulation of ordinance/bylaws to eliminate violence against women and girls, sexual violence and human practice.

The function funded by United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and implemented by the commission held at Town lodge Tororo hotel began on Wednesday and ends on Thursday. It was organized by the Jinja regional office.

When the sad news trickled in about the demise of the commission chairman both the organizers and participant got touched leaving everybody disorganized.

The organisers and participants couldn't believe it because most of them had just read an article in the new vision paper where he was handing over his office to a girl in a mock exercise on Tuesday.

While officially opening the workshop, Commissioner Dr. Patricia Achan couldn't compose herself.

She was emotionally touched before she drove back to Kampala.
