King's College Budo honours Kabaka Edward Muteesa II

King's College Budo gave Kabaka Edward Muteesa II the school's highest meritorious award, the Order of Merit. It was the first time for the school to give the prestigious award posthumously. The award was handed over to Prince David Golooba, during a memorial service for Sir Edward Muteesa II at King's College Budo chapel on Sunday, November 17.

Dr. Edwaadi Kayondo, who read the citation of King Muteesa during the function, said the school found it right and just to honour Mutessa because he was an outstanding Old Budonian,  who studied at the school from 1930 to 1942 and subsequently became an influential king of Buganda and first President of Uganda.

The function was graced by several members of the royal family, who included Prince David Wassajja, Nalinnya Sarah Kagere, Nalongo Lubuga Agnes Nabaloga, and several others. Buganda's finance minister, the Rt Hon Wagwa Nsibirwa also graced the function.

The memorial service was presided over by the Bishop Emeritus of Mukono, the Rt Rev Prof. Sennyimba, assisted by Rev Naphtali Kabanda. By Mathias Mazinga
