FUFA preparing to host African Beach tourney

In a bid to host next year's African Beach football championships, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), has staked to build three beach football grounds at Njeru technical centre.
This was revealed by the head of referees committee in FUFA, Ronnie Kalema, who represented FUFA during the closure of a one week FIFA facilitated Beach football referees course that ended on Friday.
The course had 25 Ugandans and two Tanzanian participants instructed by
Fédération Internationale de Football Association, (FIFA) Instructor Michele Conti.
"As FUFA, we have pledged to put up three structures here at Njeru as we prepare to host Africa Beach football in the country next year. We now call upon you to stay focused on helping to learn the rules of the game on your figure tips and avoid politics in the game. We have also definitely improved on your match allowances so that you can grow the game right from the grassroots," said Kalema.
Deo Mutabaazi, president of Beach Football was delighted with FUFA's gesture of involving the FIFA instructor to teach local referees as this will help develop the game as well as introducing new rules.
Uganda will host the African Beach Football championship in December 2020 and FUFA's Njeru technical centre will be the focal point for the competition, if they complete the three playing surfaces on time.
