BUL FC eyeing league title, says coach

Oct 09, 2019

BUL FC head coach Peter Onen said his team has all the rights to challenge for this year's title.

KCCA FC's winless run continued as they went down 3-0 to BUL  in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

This was KCCA FC's fifth consecutive game without a win in all competitions.

However, after the loss, KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi denied that his side was in a crisis.

"We played against a very efficient BUL FC side that battled virtually for every ball. On the day, they created many chances and scored but we created very few today and my strikers were not sharp enough. But this loss does not mean that I have lost the title. It's too early to say we are not putting up a fight," Mutebi said.

The all-important goals were scored by Richard Wandyaka [32 minutes], Robert Mukogotya [52 minutes], as well as former KCCA FC servant Musa Esenu [80 minutes] as the Jinja side, registered their first league win over KCCA FC since 2016.

However, BUL FC head coach Peter Onen revealed that his team has all the rights to challenge for this year's title.

"We were so good right from the first whistle and after today's display, I can now confidently say that we have been participants in the past and now we are competitors. We are now ready to challenge for the league title," said Onen.

The result handed BUL FC top spot with 16 points from 7 matches.

Yet again, Robert Mukogotya put up another man of the match performance that handed BUL their fifth victory out of the seven games they have so far played.
