Two newly elected National Resistance Movement (NRM) women MPs for Hoima and Kaabong districts were sworn in at Parliament on Wednesday.
They are Harriet Businge representing Hoima district and Christine Tubo Nakwang representing Kaabong district.

Businge garnered 33,301 votes, against Forum for Democratic Change's (FDC) Asinansi Nyakato's 28,789 votes.
In Kaabong, Nakwang got 22,532 votes while her challenger, FDC's Judith Nalibe Adyaka polled 1,692 votes.

Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga was on hand to officiate the ceremony and later handed the two freshly minted legislators copies of the Constitution and the rules of Parliament.
After finally taking their seats in the chamber, Parliament discussed the controversial Sugar Bill 2019 as well as security matters.
