Mike Mutyaba to feature for Cranes in CHAN qualifier

Mutyaba who last featured for the Cranes in 2014 against Liberia, has been on form for KCCA FC ever since he got out of retirement last year.

Forward Mike Mutyaba has been included in the 18-man squad ahead of the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Burundi on Saturday in Bujumbura.
 
Mutyaba who last featured for the Cranes in 2014 against Liberia, has been on form for KCCA FC ever since he got out of retirement last year.
 
The other new face in the national team is Wakiso Giants' attacking midfielder Viane Ssekajjugo who has put up tremendous performances in the league this season.
 
The local-based national side under interim coach Abdullah Mubiru left for Bujumbura today aboard Kenya Airways
 
Uganda eliminated Somalia 7-2 on aggregate in the previous round while Burundi were 4-1 winners over South Sudan.
 
The two sides will meet again on October 19 in the return leg match at Lugogo, Kampala with the winner making it to the finals.
 
More than 20 countries are engaged in qualifiers as they battle to join hosts Cameroon for the final tournament next year.
 
Morocco managed to defeat Nigeria 4-0 in the final to win the last edition (2018).
 
Uganda that has featured in the last four editions of the championship has not gone past the group stages. In Morocco, Cranes managed to finish third with one point out of the three games they played.
