LIRA - Nkumba University Volleyball Club (NUVC)women's team KCB-NUVC ladies have continued their perfect run following their recent performance in the volleyball National Club Championships that were held in Lira over the weekend.
KCB-NUVC ladies were crowned champions after humbling their rivals Ndejje in three straight sets in the final which has earned them a ticket to the Africa Club Championships next year in Tunisia.
They are five-time champions and have now won the championship back to back defeating the Luwero girls in both final meetings.
The Entebbe based side is proving to be a hot property having already won three major tournaments in East Africa. They are this year's Genocide Memorial Volleyball open champions, NSSF KAVC and NCC champions.
KCB-NUVC haS for the past one year strengthened its squad which has seen it challenge other big teams like UCU, Ndejje, KCCA, VVC and Sport-S.
MVP of the tournament Grace Akiror, best setter Doreen Akiteng and best blocker Saidat Nnungi have continuously played a major role in the clubs triumph.
However, it was a mixed emotion day for NUVC as their men failed to book a ticket as well for the Africa Club Championships after they lost to UCU who were defending the title for their second time.
