The Uganda U20 national team assistant coach Hamzah Lutalo says he is impressed with team's performance and steady process ahead of the CECAFA U20 Challenge Cup that gets underway on Saturday in Gulu and Njeru respectively.

Lutalo made the remarks after his side beat Busoga United 7-0 in a one-sided practice match played at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru on Sunday evening.

"It was a nice exhibition from the boys. I am delighted that the boys are putting into action what we have been practicing. Scoring goals has been one of our challenges and step by step we are overcoming it. If we continue this way, we shall go places, "stated Lutalo.

Sadam Masereka notched a hattrick while Charles Lwanga, Najib Yiga, Ivan Asaba and Said Mayanja chipped in with a goal each.

The two weeks competition sponsored by FIFA and returns after an eight-year hiatus.

Uganda is placed in Group A with Sudan, Eritrea and Djibouti while Group B will comprise of Kenya, Zanzibar, Tanzania and Ethiopia. Group C has Burundi, South Sudan and Somalia.

Group A matches will be hosted at Pece War Memorial Stadium in Gulu while groups B and C are to have their matches played at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

Uganda won the past two editions of the tournament staged in 2006 and 2010 in Tanzania and Eritrea respectively.
